    Lieutenant (Junior Grade) appointment signed

U.S. Naval Reserve: Neil Armstrong's Signed Copy of His 1954-dated Appointment to Lieutenant (Junior Grade), Directly From The Armstrong Family Collection™, CAG Certified. A carbon copy of a one page 8" x 10.5" printed document, filled in by typewriter, on blue paper from the Department of the Navy, dated October 14, 1954, to "LTJG Neil A. ARMSTRONG, USNR, 505129" stating that "The president of the United States permanently appointed you on 4 October 1954 to the subject grade in the Naval Reserve to rank from 1 January 1953..." Below is an Acceptance form filled out giving his address at 503 State Street in West Lafayette, Indiana (Purdue). Armstrong has signed in blue ink: "Neil A. Armstrong". Beneath that is an Endorsement form signed by a J. McCabe by direction. Obviously a very important document from his naval career. CAG 1000127-001. Staple rust in two places, edge wear, very good. This lot will include a Statement of Provenance signed by Neil Armstrong's sons, Rick and Mark.

This was my first time dealing with an auction house, and I am 100% completely impressed with Heritage. There is not an aspect of this process that I have a critique for.
