    Description

Tracking and Data Relay Satellite, First Generation, Contractor's Model on Base. A stunningly detailed all-metal model, 9.5" tall x 7.5" x 6.5" overall, on a wooden base with an engraved plaque reading: "Tracking and Data Relay Satellite/ Dick Sade". This is the type of satellite that was launched from STS-6 in 1983 and likely dates from then or earlier. These satellites form part of the TDRSS network used by NASA and other government agencies. Rare. From the collection of NASA's Network Director Richard S. Sade. Very fine.
