    Description

Veteran of seven Space Shuttle missions!

Space Shuttle Missions STS-1 through STS-135: Jerry Ross's Complete Set of 135 Silver Robbins Medals, One for Each Mission, Includes STS-1, STS-41-D, and STS-27 Flown Examples [with] STS-110 Flown and Worn Shirt, Signed Color Photo and Autobiography, with Signed Certificates of Authenticity. Colonel Ross is offering his lovingly-completed set of shuttle medals to a lucky collector who will treasure them for the rarities they are. Included are 135 sterling silver medals, all still in their original cases with labels on the bottom, and in their original mint state condition. All are gorgeous highly-detailed works of medallic art, created in various shapes and sizes, representing thirty years of the American space program (April 12, 1981 through July 8, 2011). See the second image for Ross's signed list of medals (in chronological order) with their serial numbers and flown status. What an incredible display this would make! Especially with the included STS-110 flown and worn polo crew shirt (with its own COA), an 8" x 10" color spacesuit photo signed "Jerry L Ross", and a copy of his book Spacewalker signed "God's Blessings/ Jerry L Ross". This is one of the most exciting lots in this auction. Complete sets of these medals are extremely rare; don't pass this one up. Mint state medals, excellent shirt, photo, and book.

Included with this lot is a signed COA by Jerry Ross on his letterhead reading, in full: "This complete set of 135 sterling silver Robbins Space Shuttle medallions includes flown medallions from STS-1, STS- 41 D, and STS- 27 and is from the personal collection of astronaut Colonel Jerry L Ross and were collected throughout his NASA career. A list of the medallions in the set is on the following pages. The offering also includes a shirt that Colonel Ross wore on orbit with its own Certificate of Authenticity and an autographed copy of his autobiography. Colonel Ross set and now shares the World Record with seven launches into space, all on the Space Shuttle. He also performed nine space walks including three to start the assembly of the International Space Station (ISS) and two more to continue the construction of the ISS. Colonel Ross was with NASA from before the first Space Shuttle launch until after the last Space Shuttle landing. He was also involved with the International Space Station from its inception until after assembly was complete. [signed] Jerry L. Ross. Mission Specialist on STS-61B, 27, 37, 55, 74, 88, 110"
