    Description

Original documentation for one of the most exciting events in space history- the first untethered space walk

Space Shuttle Challenger (STS-41-B) Flown Large NASA "EVA Checklist" Book, Heavily Annotated, Directly from the Personal Collection of Mission Specialist Bruce McCandless II. A 10.5" x 8.75" x 0.875" thick cardstock book, three-hole punched and bound with binder rings. The front cover has a glued-on mission insignia and a "41-B" sticker over the original "11". This had to be the most-used book on this entire flight as there are handwritten notes on almost every page. This mission, of course, was notable for the first untethered spacewalk using the MMU and documented by some of the most iconic images of the U.S. space program- Bruce McCandless floating alone in against the blackness of space with the blue earth surface below. One of the most desirable and historic Shuttle checklists Heritage has offered. Fine.
