"Jay Barbree, the only journalist who covered them all."

Space Shuttle Atlantis (STS-71) Flown Tiffany Money Clip Framed Display Presentation Celebrating Jay Barbree's Coverage of All One Hundred U.S. Manned Space Flights. America's 100th manned space flight was STS-71 in 1995. The only journalist to cover every single one of these missions was NBC's Jay Barbree (he eventually covered all 166 missions to date). NASA wanted to honor him for this feat and they had a sterling silver Tiffany money clip engraved: "[Peacock logo] Flown on 100th Flight For Jay Barbree" (front) and "NBC News Always There" (back). It was carried on the 100th mission as attested to by a NASA Certificate of Authenticity signed "Alan Shepard" as the First American in Space and "Robert 'Hoot' Gibson" as Commander of the 100th Mission; it reads, in part: "This Money Clip was flown aboard the United States Space Shuttle Atlantis, STS-71, June 27 through July 7, 1995." The money clip is attached to a small card signed by the KSC Director of Public Affairs, stating: "This money clip was flown on the 100th United States Manned Space Flight for Jay Barbree, the only journalist who covered them all." All these items are beautifully matted and framed, along with mission patches from the first and 100th missions and several color photos of Shepard, Barbree, and Gibson, all to an overall 29" x 22". The frame is cut out in the back to allow viewing of the back of the money clip and the "Tiffany Blue" pouch. Absolutely unique and a fitting tribute to an excellent space journalist and friend to the astronauts. Excellent condition.
