    Ex. David Griggs

Women in Space: Collection of Seventeen Sterling Silver Unflown Robbins Medallions from Space Shuttle Missions, Directly from the Family Collection of Astronaut David Griggs, with Letter of Certification. Nineteen years after the first astronaut group had been selected in 1959, NASA chose its first female astronauts as a part of Group 8 in 1978. This collection includes Robbins Medallions from the first (June 18, 1983, STS-7) and second flight of Sally Ride, the first female astronaut in space. It also contains the only flight of the first African-American woman in space, Mae Jemison (Sept 12, 1992, STS-4). Also included are flights of distinguished female shuttle astronauts Shannon Lucid, Rhea Seddon, Kathryn Sullivan (first spacewalk of American woman), Mary Cleave, Ellen Baker, Marsha Ivins, Linda Godwin, and Susan Helms.

Details of this great collection of beautiful medals, all from flights with female astronauts aboard (serial numbers noted): STS-7 (Sally Ride, the first American woman in space, #107); STS-41-G (Kathryn Sullivan & Sally Ride, #155); STS-40 (Rhea Seddon, Tamara Jernigan & Millie Hughes-Fulford, #95), STS-51-G (Shannon Lucid, #141); STS-32 (Bonnie Dunbar & Marsha Ivins, # 92); STS-30 (Mary Cleave, #116); STS-34 (Shannon Lucid & Ellen Baker, #43); STS-50 (Bonnie Dunbar & Ellen Baker, #85); STS-43 (Shannon Lucid, # 90); STS-46 (Marsha Ivins, #99); STS-37 (Linda Godwin, #99); STS-59 (Linda Godwin, #67); STS-47 (Jan Davis & Mae Jemison, # 89); STS-54 (Susan Helms, #64); STS-64 (Susan Helms, # 87); STS-62 (Marsha Ivins, # 71); and STS-58 (Rhea Seddon & Shannon Lucid, #117). There are some gorgeous medals here, all cases are included with serial number stickers on the bottoms (a tiny amount have cracks). All from the collection of NASA astronaut David Griggs. Excellent.
