Description

Walt Cunningham Signed Large Color Hasselblad 500EL Camera Photo, Originally from His Personal Collection. A 19.5" x 15.5" photo on heavy and stiff stock of the Hasselblad 500EL Data Camera with a 60mm lens, superimposed over the iconic Apollo 8 "Earthrise" image, signed at upper left in silver: "Walt Cunningham/ Apollo 7". This is, of course, the camera used by NASA astronauts to take all the great high-resolution photos that are so familiar to multiple generations. Full caption on verso. Part of a group of photos presented to Cunningham personally by Victor Hasselblad in 1972 during a special ceremony in Stockholm. Should appeal strongly to space photography collectors; perfect for obtaining additional signatures. Tiny holes at corners for hanging, a part of the thin plastic coating is torn affecting nothing. Overall excellent.

We had a wonderful time in New York during the October 2013 Historical Manuscripts auction that featured my mother’s papers collected during her tenure as Martin Luther King, Jr.’s secretary. In fact, the entire experience from beginning to end has been a pleasure.
