Space Shuttle Program Flown Hardware: Parachute Line Cutter for Solid Rocket Booster. An 8.5" x 2" x 1" piece of equipment with engraved part and serial numbers. Included with this lot is a certificate of authenticity with the following text: "This piece of hardware was flown as part of the Space Shuttle's Solid Rocket Booster assembly. The red spray paint is applied by NASA technicians to Shuttle hardware that has been flown in space and is not available for reuse. When the boosters are jettisoned from the shuttle, at T+2 minutes and 7 seconds, they drop from an altitude of about 30 miles into the Atlantic Ocean for recovery. The decent is controlled by a series of parachutes. This device is part of that system. At specified time delays the cutters use an explosive charge applied to a metal guillotine blade to sever the main chute's reefing lines, allowing the chutes to inflate to their second reefed and full open configuration." Fine used condition.

This was my first time dealing with an auction house, and I am 100% completely impressed with Heritage. There is not an aspect of this process that I have a critique for.
