DescriptionSpace Shuttle Discovery (STS-26) Unflown Silver Robbins Medallion from the Personal Collection of Astronaut Charlie Duke, Serial Number 114. This 39mm sterling silver medal, with the mission dates engraved on the reverse, is in its original issue plastic box. This medallion, though not flown, was made to commemorate the September 29-October 3, 1988, flight of the Discovery, the first space shuttle mission following the Challenger disaster on January 28, 1986. The design features the surnames of crewmembers John M. Lounge, David C. Hilmers, George D. Nelson, Frederick H. Hauck, and Richard O. Covey on both sides. Excellent condition.
Included with this lot is a signed Letter of Authenticity from Charles M. Duke, Jr. on his personal letterhead.
