    Commemorating the "Return to Flight"

    Space Shuttle Discovery (STS-26) Flown NASA Flag on Presentation Certificate, with NASA Color Photo Collection. A 5.625" x 3.75" cloth flag bearing the seal of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration attached to an 11" x 14" color printed certificate with images of the takeoff and landing. Text reads: "Presented to Andrew R. Patnesky. This National Aeronautics and Space Administration flag was flown aboard the Orbiter 'Discovery.' STS-26, September 29-October 3, 1988, commemorating the National Space Transportation System 'Return to Flight'." It bears facsimile signatures of NASA's James C. Fletcher and JSC's Aaron Cohen. This mission was the first shuttle flight following the Challenger disaster on January 28, 1986. The crewmembers were John M. Lounge, David C. Hilmers, George D. Nelson, Frederick H. Hauck, and Richard O. Covey. Also, four 10" x 8" silk-finish color photos of scenes at Mission Control during this mission. Excellent.
