    Description

Space Shuttle Columbia (STS-32) Unflown Silver Robbins Medallion from the Personal Collection of Astronaut Charlie Duke, Serial Number 123. This 39mm sterling silver medal, with the mission dates engraved on the reverse, is in its original issue plastic box. This medallion, though not flown, was made to commemorate the January 9-20, 1990, flight of the Columbia, a mission to deploy the SYNCOM defense communications satellite and to retrieve NASA's Long Duration Exposure Facility (LDEF). The design features the mission objectives, plus the surnames of crewmembers Bonnie Dunbar, Marsha S. Ivins, G. David Low, Daniel C. Brandenstein, and James D. Wetherbee on both sides.

Included with this lot is a signed Letter of Authenticity from Charles M. Duke, Jr. on his personal letterhead.

This was my first time dealing with an auction house, and I am 100% completely impressed with Heritage. There is not an aspect of this process that I have a critique for.
