    Description

    Space Shuttle Columbia (STS-1) Flown Embroidered Mission Insignia Crew Patch on a Presentation Certificate. A 4.25" x 4.75" flown patch mounted to a 14" x 11" certificate with the following text: "In recognition of your outstanding contribution to the manned space flight programs, presented to Paul M. Sturtevant" and "This crew patch was carried aboard the first flight of the Space Shuttle 'Columbia' (STS-1)./ April 12-14, 1981". Signed "Christopher C. Kraft, Jr". Excellent condition save for some very light overall toning to the certificate. From the personal collection of Gemini Program Office special assistant and longtime NASA employee, Paul M. Sturtevant.
