Skylab II (SL-3) Training-Used NASA Final "Maneuvering Experiments Checklist & Log" Book Directly from the Personal Collection of Astronaut Bruce McCandless II. A 6" x 8" x 1.25" thick tabbed cardstock book, three-hole punched and bound with binder rings. Dated July 2, 1973, and prepared by "EVA and Experiment Branch, Crew Procedures Division" of NASA / JSC. "McCandless" is written in blue on the cover. A number of the experiments detailed in this checklist for the crew of Bean, Garriott, and Lousma to perform are in regards to the M509 Astronaut Maneuvering Equipment. There is also an extensive debriefing section. The M509 was an early version of the Manned Maneuvering Unit that McCandless finally tested in space on STS-41-B. Heavily illustrated and quite fascinating. Near fine.

We had a wonderful time in New York during the October 2013 Historical Manuscripts auction that featured my mother’s papers collected during her tenure as Martin Luther King, Jr.’s secretary. In fact, the entire experience from beginning to end has been a pleasure.
