    SKYLAB

    One of only fifty flown, designed by Frank Kelly Freas

    Skylab I (SL-2) Flown Silver Robbins Medallion, Serial Number F18, Originally from the Personal Collection of Astronaut Jack Swigert, with LOA. This 35mm sterling silver medal is one of only fifty flown (of 300 minted) aboard Skylab I, May 25-June 22, 1973, with crewmembers Pete Conrad, Paul Weitz, and Joe Kerwin. The obverse features the mission insignia, designed by the legendary science-fiction artist Frank Kelly Freas, depicting Skylab above the earth with the sun in the background. The reverse features the engraved launch dates of Skylab and the first Skylab crew as well as the date of the crew's return. The serial number is on the rim along with the sterling and Robbins hallmarks. The original plastic Robbins case with numbered sticker on the bottom is included. Rarely offered. Excellent.

    Included with this lot is a Letter of Authenticity signed by Jack Swigert's sister, Virginia Swigert, certifying that this Skylab I Flown Robbins Medal, serial number F18, was personally owned by Jack Swigert and that it comes directly from his estate.
