DescriptionSkylab 1 (SL-2) Crew-Signed Color Photo Directly from the Personal Collection of Mission Pilot Paul Weitz. A 9.5" x 7" color photo mounted to a 14" x 11" mat board; it pictures the crew seated around a model of the Skylab. The three crewmembers, "Joe Kerwin", "Charles Conrad Jr." (1930-1999), and "Paul Weitz" have all signed in black ink on the photo itself. SL-2 was the first manned mission to Skylab, the first U.S. orbital space station. Their twenty-eight days in orbit, May 25 - June 22, 1983, established a new spaceflight duration record. Excellent condition.
Included with this lot is a signed, handwritten Letter of Certification from Weitz on his personal letterhead stating: "I hereby certify that the photograph of the Skylab I crew presented with this letter bears the authentic signatures of Charles Conrad, Joseph Kerwin and myself. It is from my personal collection of artifacts from the mission."
