DescriptionSilver Pontifical Medal Presented by Pope Paul VI to Alan & Sue Bean. The Italian Mint struck the 44mm silver pontifical medal for the Holy See as a personal gift from the pope to dignitaries and heads of state. This medal, struck in the eighth year of the reign of Pope Paul VI, is in the original red leather presentation box, bearing the pope's papal seal in gold. Designed by Enrico Manfrini, the medal is marked 986 for purity. The hinge of the case is weak, but medal is in excellent condition.
From the collection of Sue Bean-Gilliam and accompanied by a handwritten Letter of Authenticity on her letterhead describing their audience with Pope Paul VI.
