DescriptionRussian Soyuz TM-16 / Mir EO-13 Flown Utility Knife Signed by and Originally from the Collection of Cosmonaut Alexander Poleshchuk. This 11.75" long serrated-edge heavy-duty knife spent 179 days in space aboard the Russian Space Station Mir, launching January 24 and returning July 22, 1993. The handle bears the number: "17KC.30010 9213-30" and the cloth sheath is signed by Poleshchuk. The knife is connected by cords to the sheath and also a massive snaphook. This was Poleshchuk's only space flight. He was later awarded the title of Hero of the Russian Federation. Very fine.
