DescriptionReplica of 1962 Grumman Lunar Excursion Module Concept Model. A wood model created as a replica of the model presented in 1962 by Grumman of the LEM. Grumman was later awarded the $1.4 billion contract to produce a total of 15 LEMs. The model sits 3.75" tall and is 5" in diameter. Included with this lot is a March 14, 1969 copy of Life magazine that contains an article about the development of the LEM. Within that article is a large color photo of the original Grumman model. A great display piece and conversation starter. Excellent.
