    Project Mercury: Three Philatelic Items Related to the Mercury Missions. As follows.
    Mercury-Redstone 3 (Freedom 7): Smithsonian Institute published postcard with a picture of the Freedom 7 spacecraft, accompanied by four unused "Alan Shepard: First Man in Space" Forever stamps.
    Mercury-Atlas 6 (Friendship 7): Philatelic cover with encapsulated "Project Mercury" stamp and cancelled at Cape Canaveral on February 20, 1979, the seventeenth anniversary of the launch.
    Mercury 7 Astronauts: Postcard with beautiful color photo of the original seven astronauts. Signed by Scott Carpenter in black felt tip: "Scott Carpenter". All very fine.
