Neil Armstrong Signed 1994 Hallmark "The Eagle Has Landed" Keepsake Ornament with Original Box, from the Collection of His Niece Ellen. An extreme rarity, signed only reluctantly by Armstrong at the time of its release for his niece. A 4.5" tall Christmas tree ornament picturing an astronaut in lunar pressure suit, holding an American flag, boldly signed in black felt tip on the bottom: "Neil Armstrong". This was issued for the 25th anniversary of the mission and the box advertises "Hear the Voice of Neil Armstrong". One little problem- Hallmark did not have a licensing agreement with Mr. Armstrong. They admitted to misappropriating his name and likeness and settled out of court in late 1995; Armstrong donated the funds to his alma mater Purdue University. Excellent, in original box. A signed Certificate of Authenticity will be included with this lot.
