Neil Armstrong: 1974 Diners Club Typed Signed Rejection Letter with Returned Signed $15.00 Check Directly From The Armstrong Family Collection™, CAG Certified. An informal poll among those of us at CAG and Heritage who have seen this lot places it at or near our favorite lots from The Armstrong Family Collection™. A one page 8.5" x 11" TLS from the New Accounts Supervisor of the Diners Club, dated July 15, 1974. It reads, in full:

    "Dear Mr. Armstrong -

"We have processed your recent application for membership in Diners Club, and sincerely regret we are unable to issue you a credit card at this time.

"Our decision was according to our usual policies, and was based solely on information you supplied us. If you have additional information which might influence our decision, please feel free to contact us.

"Thank you for your interest in Diners Club."

They returned his check dated May 30, 1974, signed: "Neil A. Armstrong". It is interesting that they would turn down Armstrong when most companies and organizations in the world would do anything to have his name associated with theirs. Also, that Armstrong kept the letter and check for so many years in his files. A really fascinating piece that we expect to garner a lot of bidding. Letter and check toned and both have staple holes, overall fine. Perfect for display as is. Sealed in a numbered archival sleeve, CAG 1000101-023. This lot will include a Statement of Provenance signed by Neil Armstrong's sons, Rick and Mark.

The pre and post sales experience was wonderful and flawless. Heritage has the best in-house operation I have ever seen and their people are not only professional but fun to work with, especially Steve C.

As for Heritage's online system… Yes the interface is more complex than what we are used to with SAN but what is behind that interface is amazing for sellers and buyers alike. It is real time and for a real serious auction buyer there is nothing better in the auction industry, bar none.
