DescriptionNASA's Stennis Space Center Operations Director's Retirement Gift (1994) and Group of Four Certificates. Arthur J. "Jack" Rogers, Jr. spent forty years in government service, thirty-four at NASA. He started at Marshall Space Flight Center as a facility project engineer in 1960, then transferred to the Mississippi Test Facility (now the John C. Stennis Space Center) in 1965. He was instrumental in the design, construction, and activation of the Center and significant in the test operations for the Saturn V. Included in this lot:
Desk Display: A large and elaborate engraved retirement award from Johnson Controls, 12" wide, 7" deep, and 5" tall overall, on wooden base with a plaque dated March 31, 1994, wishing him the best in his future endeavors. A stunning piece for any Space collector's desk. Very fine.
NASA Certificates: Colorful Certificate of Participation for launch of first Saturn V (1967); colorful Award of Achievement for first lunar landing (1969); Group Achievement Award for Space Shuttle engine development and testing (1981); and Certificate of Retirement (1994).
