NASA: Apollo 15 "Decade of Achievement" First Day Souvenir Folder Inscribed to Neil Armstrong by Michael Collins and Others Upon His Retirement from NASA in August 1971, Directly From The Armstrong Family Collection™, CAG Certified. A 16" x 5.25" (open) folder with original envelope of transmittal. It has been signed by eight of his associates, some with humorous comments: "Neil- Think how tranquil your life would be if you had let Buzz Aldrin step out first." Michael Collins has mimicked the Winton Blount facsimile signature and added: "Formerly, Michael Collins". Another pays a heartfelt tribute: "Good luck to a guy who has earned more of my respect on the ground than he did in Space". After Armstrong announced that he would not fly in space again, he was appointed Deputy Associate Administrator for Aeronautics for the Office of Advanced Research and Technology at ARPA, a post he resigned in August 1971 to take a teaching position at the University of Cincinnati. A very personal item. Fine. Sealed in a numbered archival sleeve, CAG 1002341-019. This lot will include a Statement of Provenance signed by Neil Armstrong's sons, Rick and Mark.

This was my first time dealing with an auction house, and I am 100% completely impressed with Heritage. There is not an aspect of this process that I have a critique for.
