Mercury Seven Astronauts: Large Vintage Signed Color Photo (by All), on Presentation Mat, Directly from the Family Collection of Astronaut Richard Gordon. A 14" x 11" photo of America's original astronauts posed in flight suits beside an Air Force jet aircraft. Signed as follows in various black inks (left to right): "Scott Carpenter", "Gordon Cooper", "J H Glenn Jr", "Gus Grissom", "W M Schirra" (faded), "Alan B Shepard Jr", and "D K Slayton". Mounted to a 20" x 16" matboard and ready to frame. This is one of the nicest and most desirable Mercury Seven photos Heritage has ever offered, and the first from the collection of an astronaut. Also, the signatures are all on the photo itself, not the mat. The photo is somewhat faded as is the Schirra signature but not to the degree as is commonly seen with these early photos. Very fine overall.
