DescriptionMercury-Redstone 4 (Liberty Bell 7) Flown U.S. 10¢ Coin Directly from the Jim Rathmann Collection. A 1961-D Roosevelt silver dime, one of a group that Gus Grissom carried in his spacesuit during the Mercury 4 mission. It is contained in a 14K gold bezel and linked to a sterling silver disk, in a matching gold bezel, with "Liberty Bell 7" engraved on one side and "21 July 1961" on the other. These were given to friends and NASA insiders as mementoes of the flight. He also carried some older "Mercury" dimes with him that sank with the spacecraft; they were found in 1999 when the capsule was recovered from the ocean. This should appeal to both Space and Coin collectors. Excellent condition.

As for Heritage's online system… Yes the interface is more complex than what we are used to with SAN but what is behind that interface is amazing for sellers and buyers alike. It is real time and for a real serious auction buyer there is nothing better in the auction industry, bar none.
