    Flown on the first U.S. manned orbital space flight.

    Mercury-Atlas 6 (Friendship 7) Flown One Dollar Bill, Signed by John Glenn, with Signed Certificate of Authenticity. A Series 1935G $1 Silver Certificate, serial number B94404079J, which flew with John Glenn on his three-orbit mission, February 20, 1962. It is signed "J H Glenn, Jr" to the left of Washington's portrait. Written vertically in the right margin is "Bill Mosley" (McDonnell capsule system test conductor). There were apparently fifty-two pieces of U.S. currency ($1 and $2) that flew with Glenn on this historic flight. A list of the serial numbers is included with the lot. Excellent condition.

    Also included with this lot is a decorative printed certificate with the following text: "The following U.S. currency Serial No. B94404079J accompanied Lt. Col. John H. Glenn on the first manned orbital flight aboard Friendship 7 Feb. 20, 1962. [Signed] J H Glenn Jr. [Signed] M Scott Carpenter".
