DescriptionJohn Young's Official United States Passport, October 13, 1970 - October 12, 1975, Directly from his Personal Collection, Signed Twice. The flexible cover is maroon with "Official Passport United States of America" and the Great Seal in gold, 3.75" x 6", twenty internal pages. Pages two and three have Young's signed personal information ("John Watts Young") and signed B&W photo ("John W. Young") with the printed statement, "This bearer is abroad on an official assignment for the Government of the United States of America." Two stamped visas inside. Lightly used and in excellent condition save for some minor wear on the cover.
Young's trip to the moon and back on Apollo 16 took place during the validity period of this particular passport. No customs stamps or visas were required for that trip however.
