    Description

Gemini 6A & Gemini 7 Rendezvous: Individually-Signed Typed Quotations Regarding the Mission. Four identical 8.5" x 11" plain sheets with the following typed text:

    "Rendezvous in Space.

"History was made with the following words --the first face to face meeting of the two manned spacecrafts. The flight statistics made this feat almost unbelievable: Four men whirling around the earth 185 miles up in two spacecrafts 72 inches apart at a speed of 17,500 miles an hour.

'There seems to be a lot of traffic up here,' said Walter Schirra from the Gemini 6 spacecraft.

'Call a policeman' answered Frank Borman from Gemini 7.

    'You're up close,' Stafford commented.

'I can see your lips moving,' Lovell replied."

Separately signed in various inks as follows: "W M Schirra Jr", "Thomas P. Stafford", "Frank Borman", and "James Lovell". A lot of display potential here as there are great images available of this historic space feat. Mailing folds, all very fine.

We had a wonderful time in New York during the October 2013 Historical Manuscripts auction that featured my mother’s papers collected during her tenure as Martin Luther King, Jr.’s secretary. In fact, the entire experience from beginning to end has been a pleasure.
