    Description

A Gold Coin Onboard Gemini IV During America's First Space Walk.

Gemini 4 Flown 1902 U.S. $2½ Gold Coin Originally from the Collection of Mission Command Pilot Jim McDivitt, NGC Certified. This gold quarter eagle was carried along on the important Gemini 4 mission, the first U.S. multi-day flight, and the one in which Ed White performed the first American EVA (extra-vehicular activity). Numismatic Guaranty Corporation has encapsulated this coin with the tag reading: "1902 $2.5/ Flown into Earth Orbit/ GEMINI 4 - JUNE 3-7, 1965/ James A. McDivitt". It is accompanied by a Novaspace Certificate of Authenticity signed by McDivitt that states: "I certify that this 1902 gold coin was flown in space aboard Gemini IV in 1965. It is from my personal collection and recently presented to Novaspace for dispersal to collectors of artifacts from the great 'space race' and the golden era of space exploration." An excellent space-flown relic that should appeal equally to collectors of space memorabilia and coins.

This was my first time dealing with an auction house, and I am 100% completely impressed with Heritage. There is not an aspect of this process that I have a critique for.
