    Description

Gemini 12 Flown Heat Shield Plug in Capsule-Shaped Plastic Directly from the Personal Collection of Mission Commander James Lovell, Certified and Signed. A segment, approximately 0.75" x 0.5" x 1.75" long, sealed in a plastic representation of the spacecraft itself, overall 3" x 5" in size. This is mounted to a triangular-shaped base, 4" x 5.25" overall, underneath which is engraved: "HEAT SHIELD OF GEMINI #12 FROM JIM LOVELL TOTAL TIME IN SPACE 425/11/17/ BUZZ ALDRIN E.V.A. TIME 5/37 NOV. 11-15 1966". This is, in turn, mounted to a triangular 6" x 7.25" wooden base. Lovell has certified and signed in silver on the wooden base: "From my personal collection James Lovell". This plug was drilled from the capsule's heat shield, an integral and important part of the space capsule, helping to ensure its safe reentry into Earth's atmosphere. Gemini 12 was the last U.S. two-man space mission of the program. Very fine condition.

The pre and post sales experience was wonderful and flawless. Heritage has the best in-house operation I have ever seen and their people are not only professional but fun to work with, especially Steve C.

As for Heritage's online system… Yes the interface is more complex than what we are used to with SAN but what is behind that interface is amazing for sellers and buyers alike. It is real time and for a real serious auction buyer there is nothing better in the auction industry, bar none.
