    Description

    Gemini 11 Flown Gilt over Silver Fliteline Medallion Originally from the Personal Collection of Mission Commander Charles Conrad, with His Handwritten and Signed Certificate of Authenticity. This 21mm x 29mm shield-shaped sterling silver medal was flown aboard Gemini 11 with crewmembers Pete Conrad and Richard Gordon between September 12 and 15, 1966. An opportunity to own a matched pair from the mission commander. Gorgeous.

    Included with this lot is a rarely-offered handwritten and signed COA from Conrad on his notecard reading, in full: "This gold-plated sterling silver medallion flew aboard the Gemini XI spacecraft during September 12-15, 1966. The mission accomplished a rendezvous in less than one orbit of the earth and set a world altitude record 850 miles. It is from my personal collection. Charles Conrad Jr. Gemini XI CDR."
