DescriptionGemini 11 Flown Fliteline Gold-Plated Sterling Silver Medallion Originally from the Collection of Mission Command Pilot Charles Conrad Jr. This 20mm x 30mm shield-shaped silver medal with the mission insignia on the obverse is one of possibly only one-hundred minted. It is estimated that maybe only ten of the group were gold-plated making this particularly desirable. It has been mounted to a signed Letter of Authenticity that states, in full: "This gold-plated sterling silver Gemini XI medallion flew in space from September 12 to 15, 1966. I was mission commander and fellow astronaut Richard Gordon was pilot. Our flight accomplished a rendezvous with an Agena target vehicle in less than one orbit of the Earth. After docking, we used the Agena's large rocket engine to set a world altitude record of 850 miles. The medallion is from my personal collection." Conrad has added "GT-11 CDR" beneath his name. Excellent condition.
