    Description

    Gemini 11 Flown Embroidered Mission Insignia Patch Directly from the Jim Rathmann Collection. Originally presented to the Rathmanns by Mission Commander Pete Conrad. This 3" x 4.375" shield-shaped partially-embroidered on blue cloth patch flew on Gemini 11 with Pete Conrad and Dick Gordon, September 12-15, 1966. The design includes the Roman numeral "XI," the Agena target vehicle, the orbital apogee path, a spacewalking astronaut, and the crew's surnames. Seldom offered. Pristine condition.

    A copy of a two-page letter from Pete Conrad to Kay Rathmann discussing how he had gathered as many flown Gemini patches and medallions as he could for the Rathmanns' collection is included with this lot.
