DescriptionGemini 10 Flown Gold-Colored Fliteline Medallion Originally from the Personal Collection of Astronaut Jerry Carr, with LOA. This 25mm medal was flown aboard Gemini 10, July 18-21, 1966, with crewmembers Michael Collins and John Young. The obverse depicts the mission insignia, a large Roman numeral "X" with both Gemini spacecraft and Agena target vehicle orbiting it and two stars; the crew surnames are above and below. The reverse has the flight name and dates engraved in block letters. Enclosed in a bezel with jump ring for suspension from a necklace or bracelet. Light wear primarily on reverse.
Included with this lot is a signed Letter of Authentication from Carr on his personal letterhead stating, in full: "This commemorative medallion was flown aboard Gemini X by its crew, John Young and Michael Collins. It was made available to me by the crew and has been the property of the Carr family collection ever since."
