Edward White II 1965-Dated Typed Quotation Signed with Handwritten Notation. A plain 8.5" x 11" sheet dated August 5, 1965, with the following typed text:

"Astronaut White when asked why he wanted to perform the extra-vehicular activity (walking in space), he replied: Because that's what I get paid for doing. (White crossed through this last line and wrote: This was taken out of context. The reasons were much deeper than this.

"Also: Our mission in Gemini is one of long duration. That is the purpose of the program, so of course I still feel the long duration aspect is more important than E.V.A. [signed] Edward H White II"

An interesting piece. Flattened mailing folds. Very fine.

This was my first time dealing with an auction house, and I am 100% completely impressed with Heritage. There is not an aspect of this process that I have a critique for.
