Description

    GEMINI 4

Ed White II Signed Original NASA "Red Number" EVA Color Photo on Framed Display with Gemini 4 and Apollo 1 Fliteline Medallions. A 7.75" x 7.75" (sight size) glossy photo (S-65-30432) nicely signed: "Edward H. White II". It is beautifully and archivally double matted and framed (with two-sided viewing for the medals) to an overall 16" x 24" along with (1) a rarely-seen flown sterling silver Fliteline medallion for Gemini 4 and (2) a gold-colored Fliteline medal for Apollo 1. White flew on Gemini 4 where he became the "First Self Propelled Human in Space" on June 3, 1965, as noted on the engraved plate in this display. He was scheduled to fly in Apollo 1 on February 21, 1967, but a tragic fire during a "plugs-out" launch simulation on January 27, 1967, claimed the lives of White and his crewmates Gus Grissom and Roger Chaffee. A beautiful tribute display to this brave astronaut. Worthy of the finest collections. Excellent.
