    Congressional Space Medal of Honor: Guest Badge and Philatelic Cover From the First Presentation, October 1, 1978, Directly From The Armstrong Family Collection™, CAG Certified. Two items from this historic inaugural medal presentation by President Jimmy Carter to Neil Armstrong, Frank Borman, Charles Conrad, John Glenn, Gus Grissom (posthumous), and Alan Shepard. As follows.
    Guest Badge: A 4" x 2.625" laminated badge for the "Visit of President Carter to the John F. Kennedy Space Center for the Presentation of Congressional Space Medals of Honor". On the verso is found a facsimile signature of KSC Director Lee R. Scherer and the number "111".
    Event Cover: A beautiful and informative cover with a Colorano "silk" cachet picturing the medal set. The cover bears a "Viking Mission To Mars" 15¢ stamp cancelled October 1, 1978, at Cape Canaveral. It bears printed text including brief bios of each recipient.
    Both very fine. Sealed in numbered archival sleeves, CAG 1002337-017 & 1002041-004. This lot will include a Statement of Provenance signed by Neil Armstrong's sons, Rick and Mark.
