Description

Collection of 1975 Apollo Soyuz Mementos, Two Signed. This is a great assortment of material relating to the 1975 joint American-Soviet Apollo Soyuz project, which included three United States astronauts: Tom Stafford, Vance Brand, and Deke Slayton. Included here is a color photograph signed by all three American astronauts. In addition, there is an Apollo Soyuz first day cover signed by Stafford, Brand, and Slayton, as well as cosmonauts Aleksei Leonov and Valery Kubasov. Rounding out this eclectic collection of Apollo Soyuz mementos are a large commemorative patch, five commemorative covers, a NASA souvenir program, and a Franklin Mint commemorative silver coin. This interesting lot of Apollo Soyuz material is accompanied by a letter from NASA inviting Dr. Coons to the Apollo Soyuz launch. All items in this assortment are in excellent condition. From the estate of Dr. D. Owen Coons, Chief of NASA's Manned Spacecraft Center Medical Office.

We had a wonderful time in New York during the October 2013 Historical Manuscripts auction that featured my mother’s papers collected during her tenure as Martin Luther King, Jr.’s secretary. In fact, the entire experience from beginning to end has been a pleasure.
