A cover flown to the moon, the first since Apollo 16!
China's Chang'e 5-T1: Limited Edition Cover That Flew to the
Moon and Returned, Presented in a Beautiful Album with
Slipcover. A colorful philatelic cover stamped, canceled, and
numbered "43". This was part of the small payload in this 2014
Chinese space mission where they became the only the third country
to send a spacecraft to the moon and return it. As opposed to the
much larger Shenzhou capsules, the Chang'e 5 capsule is much
smaller, and only 400-500 covers therefore are believed to have
flown on this historic Chinese lunar flight. This cover is a
limited edition of 50 covers only issued by BITT. It comes with a
steel embossed notarized stamp on cover and COA issued by a public
Beijing notary like always done for all flown Chinese covers housed
in an attractive large oversized folder. The notarized COA matches
the serial number of the cover (0043) and also has a copy of the
cover included in the back. China has a very active community of
space collectors and it is rare for one of these to be offered in
the western market. Excellent.
