    Description

Celestia, The Nation of Celestial Space: Three Gold Celestons, 1959 &1960 (Two), in Original Holder. There is quite an interesting story behind these three mint state coins. These "coins" originate from a micronation formed in 1949 by Illinois resident James Thomas Mangan, who claimed all of outer space as their territory. They regularly protested the actions of the U.S. and Soviet space program as encroaching on their territory. Of course, they were ignored. Each of these pretty little coins is 2.2 grams (.900 gold) and features the profile of Ruth Mangan as allegorical figure "Magnanimity." Quite rare. Excellent.
