Buzz Aldrin: U.S.S. Hornet Presentations Originally from His Personal Collection. Two great mementoes presented to Aldrin from the ship that picked up the Apollo 11 crew after their splashdown in the Pacific Ocean.
"Heritage of Excellence" Tile: A 6" square tile for the "USS Hornet CVS-12" mounted into a 10" square x 0.5" wooden plaque. The engraved plate below reads: "Presented To/ Astronaut Edwin E. Aldrin Jr./ Lunar Module Pilot/ Apollo 11/ 24 July 1969". Scratching to the wooden plaque, light surface scratches to the engraved plate, overall very good.
    Captain-Signed Color Ship Photo:
A 9.5" x 7.5" color photo of the Hornet in the ocean mounted to a 10.5" x 13.5" (sight size) mat. Handwritten beneath the photo in an Old English-style is the following: "To/ Astronaut Edwin E. Aldrin Jr./ From Officers and men of USS Hornet/ Apollo 11/ 24 July 1969/ [signed] C. J. Seiberlich/ Captain, U.S.N./ Commanding Officer". Framed to an overall 12,75" x 15.75". Excellent.
