    Buzz Aldrin: Four Awards Originally from His Personal Collection. Includes: (1) A State of New Jersey Senate Act introduced August 6, 1969, "...creating the Edwin E. Aldrin Fund for the Advancement of Knowledge in the Department of Higher Education..." Five pages, 8" x 13" ribbon-tied into a folder with a personal note to Aldrin at the close from New Jersey Governor Richard J. Hughes (1909-1992), in part: "...It represents the prided which the grateful people of New Jersey feel toward one of its most distinguished sons..." Very fine condition, one vertical fold; (2) A State of Hawaii Senate Certificate dated March 15, 1988, resolving "[B]y the members of the Senate that Colonel Edwin 'Buzz' Aldrin and his bride, Lois, be congratulated for their recent marriage on February 14, 1988 and that there be many more years of happiness for them." Two pages, 8.5" x 14" in a folder, signed by members of the senate and with the state seal affixed. Very fine condition; (3) A Soviet certificate of 13.75" x 9.75" partially in Russian, "For Your Great Contribution to the Cause of Space Exploration on the Occasion of the 20th Anniversary of the Apollo 11 Moon Landing on Behalf of the USSR Cosmonauts." It is signed "Alexei Leonov" in Cyrillic script. Very fine condition save for a crinkled lower left corner; and (4) A beautiful certificate, partially in elaborate calligraphy, from the County of Los Angeles, resolving: "[T]hat Colonel Buzz Aldrin be hereby highly commended for his exemplary commitment to philanthropy and sincere congratulations are extended to him on receiving this prestigious award from the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation."One page, 11" x 20" in folder, signed by the Board of Supervisors. Very fine condition.
