Description
Apollo-Soyuz Test Project Flown American Flag on Crew-Signed Certificate. A 5.75" x 4" U.S. flag mounted to a 14" x 11" presentation certificate with a background image of the Robert McCall rendition of the docked spacecraft. It reads: "This flag was Flown on the First International Space Mission Apollo/Soyuz, July 15-24, 1975" and "Presented to Andrew R. Patnesky with Appreciation for your Effort in Support of the Apollo/Soyuz Test Project" It is signed at lower right: "Tom Stafford", "Vance Brand", and "D K Slayton". Mounted to the left of the signatures is a 3.5" diameter Beta cloth mission insignia. This international flight signaled the end of the U.S. - U.S.S.R. space race. A very handsome display memento of this historic flight. Certificate has minor light wear and toning, chiefly around the edges. Overall very fine.
