Apollo Program: Saturn V Engine Chill System Solenoid Valve. A liquid oxygen, chill pump motor container solenoid valve manufactured by Calmec Manufacturing Corporation of Los Angeles, California, measuring 5.25" x 2.25" x 2.75". This part bears the famous NASA George C. Marshall Space Flight Center aluminum data plate which reads, in part: "Valve, LO2 Chill,/ Pump Motor Container/ Assy. No. 586/ Contr. No. NAS7-101/ Ser No. 0033/ Date 11/67". The valve bears inspection stamps from Calmec and Douglas Aircraft Company and a Conoseal fitting (specific to Saturn rockets). Excellent condition.

The chill system is that which flushes the oxygen and hydrogen fuel ducts with their corresponding liquid fuels in order to cool the ducting prior to starting or restarting the engine so as to avoid boiling (vaporizing) the fuels as they enter the thrust chamber.

The pre and post sales experience was wonderful and flawless. Heritage has the best in-house operation I have ever seen and their people are not only professional but fun to work with, especially Steve C.

As for Heritage's online system… Yes the interface is more complex than what we are used to with SAN but what is behind that interface is amazing for sellers and buyers alike. It is real time and for a real serious auction buyer there is nothing better in the auction industry, bar none.
