    Description

Apollo Program: Complete Framed Set of Mission Insignias. One each of the eleven different mission patches made of Beta cloth, Apollo 7 through Apollo 17, all nicely presented around a Beta cloth American flag and framed to an overall 16.5" x 19.5". The Dow-Corning company developed this high-tech, fireproof material after the tragic and deadly Apollo 1 launch pad fire where the astronauts' spacesuits melted and fused together. Beta cloth was used in all the Apollo missions for the outer protective layer of the spacesuits and for many other pieces of equipment. There is a mission fact sheet attached to the back of this frame. Excellent condition.
