    Description

Apollo 9 Lunar Module Flown Large Kapton Foil Remnant Directly from the Personal Collection of Mission Lunar Module Pilot Rusty Schweickart, with Signed Letter of Certification. A large, odd-shaped section, approximately 6" x 1.75" overall of gold-colored Kapton insulation foil. This was removed from the Lunar Module Spider, the first LM to fly manned and, as such, is very rare. Obviously used in flight, but otherwise very fine.

Included with this lot is a Letter of Certification signed by Rusty Schweickart on his personal letterhead stating, in full: "I hereby confirm and certify that then accompanying Lunar Module Kapton gold foil insulation remnant was flown aboard and part of the Apollo 9 lunar module Spider. This remnant has been in my personal collection since the mission."

This was my first time dealing with an auction house, and I am 100% completely impressed with Heritage. There is not an aspect of this process that I have a critique for.
