Description

Apollo 9 Grumman Apollo Operations Handbook - Lunar Module LM 3, Volume I Book. A thick (2"+) vintage manual of approximately 600 pages, 8.5" x 11", three-hole punched. It is dated "1 January 1968" on the title page with a part number of "LMA790-3-LM 3"; the names "Detrone Craven" are written at the top of the title page (one over the other). The third lunar module built by Grumman was the first to fly manned. This is a manual for the vehicle that would be known as Spider during the Apollo 9 earth-orbit mission. It offers an incredible amount of detailed information on the spacecraft as well as its subsystems in the following major categories: "Guidance, Navigation, and Control", "Main Propulsion", "Reaction Control", "Electrical Power", "Environmental Control", Communications", "Explosive Devices", "Instrumentation", "Miscellaneous", and "Crew Personal Equipment". There are literally dozens of illustrations and tables included; many are multi-page pullouts. Definitely the LM-3 "Bible" for the technically-minded space enthusiast. Wear from use, very good.
