    Description

A rare opportunity to own an original "Earthrise" photo.

Apollo 8: NASA Color "Red-Number" Earthrise Photo (AS8-16-2383) with Nine other Original Images. One of the most iconic photos of the twentieth century, taken by Apollo 8 from lunar orbit on December 24, 1968, just months before the first moon landing. It shows the earth "rising" over the lunar horizon. This 10" x 8" glossy example has the marginal caption in red: "NASA/ AS8-16-2583 2383" (the incorrect "2583" number has been crossed out and "2383" handwritten). Pristine condition save for a small processing flaw at upper right only visible under raking light. Also included with this historic photo are the following (all in pristine condition):
S-64-22003. Color glossy, 8" x 10", photo number in red. Gemini/ Titan-II launch vehicle liftoff at Cape Kennedy, Florida on April 8, 1964.
S-65-32926. B&W glossy, 10" x 8", photo number in black. Gemini IV mission image - Ed White's EVA, over El Paso, Texas, June 3, 1965.
    S-66-18615. Color glossy, 8" x 10", photo number in red. GT-8 SLV-3 Atlas Agena D 5302 liftoff on March 19, 1966.
AS9-21-3204. Color glossy, 10" x 8", photo number in red. Apollo 9 LM Spider as viewed from CM Gumdrop, March 7, 1969.
    AS10-31-4673. B&W glossy, 10" x 8", photo number in black. View of moon's surface from Apollo 10, May 1969.
AS10-34-5013. Color glossy, 10" x 8", photo number in red. Apollo 10 View of the earth, May 18, 1969.
AS12-51-7506. Color glossy, 10" x 8", photo number in red. View from CM Yankee Clipper of LM Intrepid over craters Ptolemaeus, Herschel, and LaLande C on November 19, 1969.
Two additional photos are not numbered. One (color) of a rocket launch and another (B&W) of a moon crater.
