Apollo 8 Crew-Signed Official First Day Cover for the "Apollo 8" Stamp Directly from the Personal Collection of Astronaut Michael Collins, Signed and Certified. A philatelic cover cancelled at Houston, Texas, May 5, 1969, on the first day of issue of the 6¢ "Apollo 8" stamp. This official cachet picturing the three-sided mission insignia is from the NASA Manned Spacecraft Center Stamp Club and bears the text: "Commemorating the First Manned Lunar Orbit on Christmas Eve during the Flight of Apollo VIII December 21-27, 1968". It is signed neatly around the insignia: "Frank Borman", "James Lovell", and "Bill Anders". On the verso flap, Collins has signed: "From my personal collection-/ Michael Collins". Interestingly, Collins was originally slated to be the Apollo 8 command module pilot but was replaced by Lovell because of a back injury. One paperclip indention at top, otherwise excellent condition.

The pre and post sales experience was wonderful and flawless. Heritage has the best in-house operation I have ever seen and their people are not only professional but fun to work with, especially Steve C.

As for Heritage's online system… Yes the interface is more complex than what we are used to with SAN but what is behind that interface is amazing for sellers and buyers alike. It is real time and for a real serious auction buyer there is nothing better in the auction industry, bar none.
