    Description

    APOLLO 7

Apollo 7 Flown Silver Snoopy Pin with Wally Schirra-Signed Photo and Original NASA Sign in Matted Display, includes Signed Letter of Authenticity. A 9.25" x 7.25" (sight size) color photo of the Apollo 7 crew standing with Deke Slayton after the mission. On the door is an Apollo 7 Snoopy "What's Up?" sign. The photo is signed in black felt tip: We're Back!/ Wally Schirra". The very same 19" x 11.5" sign from the door in the photo is matted beneath and has also been signed in black felt tip: "Wally Schirra". In between is matted a silver Snoopy pin that flew on this, the first U.S. three-man mission. Nicely double matted in white on blue to 24" x 27", ready to be framed. A totally unique piece. Light soiling to mat and bumped corners, overall very fine.

Included with this lot is a signed Letter of Authenticity from Schirra on his personal letterhead to the collector who bought this in a 1994 Odyssey auction, stating that: "...an Apollo 7 snoopy pin were from my personal collection, and were flown on Apollo 7." Also included is a check from this collector endorsed on the verso by Schirra, likely in payment for the LOA.

The pre and post sales experience was wonderful and flawless. Heritage has the best in-house operation I have ever seen and their people are not only professional but fun to work with, especially Steve C.

As for Heritage's online system… Yes the interface is more complex than what we are used to with SAN but what is behind that interface is amazing for sellers and buyers alike. It is real time and for a real serious auction buyer there is nothing better in the auction industry, bar none.
